The construction of the new DV68 bone conducting earphones is quite solid and leaves a good impression. The multiple function buttons are a little bit stiff to operate but at least they will not be used accidentally. Comparing the controls layout to the previous model DG08, the button layout has much better ergonomics, but is still not intuitive and so needs to be learned to carry out the basic functions.The sound of the DV68 is refreshingly natural and airy, but as with all other bone conducting phones I have tried, bass is very light (like old fashioned on-ear headphones) and if turned up to higher sound levels it has a tendency to "fizz" against the receiving bones near the ear which should be avoided. These are not headphones for listeners of drum and bass or loud music, but quite sufficient for music during running or exercise in a gym. For sound quality, the bone conducting 'cans do not reach the same quality level (volume level and bass) as similarly priced in-ear buds, but they are not targeted for the same usage.I enjoy the DV68 greatly. They are very comfortable and light weight, and it is easy to hear all ambient sounds at the same time as I listen to music or pod casts and I even could chat easily while wearing them. They also sit firmly when I run with them.Battery run time does seem to be roughly in the 6 - 8 hours ballpark as specified, but I did not measure this exactly. This is near double the DG08 run time (they do have a much larger battery).In terms of waterproofing, I believe that they are rated to a high standard, and are better rated than the DG08s.1st time set up and pairing was very quick and easy and the packaging was simple, but unfortunately not completely free of plastic packaging materials.I can recommended these for use in sports and other uses when awareness of ambient sounds is more important than music quality.
